Losing someone you love is very painful and it is something that everyone will experience at some point in their lives. The single most important factor in healing form loss is having the support of other people. Support can come from a number of different sources. This section of our site provides a list of organisations and services that can help you get through this difficult time.

Your friends and family. Those who know and love you the most can help make the burden of grief easier to carry. Even if you take pride in being strong and self sufficient drawing on the support of your friends and family will make you feel better, less alone with your pain and help you heal.

Therapists and other professionals. Talking with a psychotherapist or grief counsellor may be a good idea if the intensity of your grief doesn't diminish over time.

The Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement is a non-profit organisation dedicated to provide education and resources for the bereaved.

SANDS Australia is a voluntary self-help organisation comprised of parents who have experienced the death of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or within days of a birth.

The National SIDS Council of Australia supports bereaved families and provides educational and support resources covering many topics from making funeral arrangements to dealing with personal grief.

The Grief Link site was developed by the National Association for Loss and Grief in South Australia. Some of the information is specific for people living in South Australia but most of the information is relevant to anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one or is supporting someone else in grief.

The Grief  Watch site was provided to create bereavement resources, memorial products and links that can help you through your personal loss. It also serves as an educational tool for all those who travel down the road of grief.

Bereavement Care Centre provides comprehensive and accessible counselling and support services for the terminally ill and their families, and for those recently bereaved. They offer many services including bereavement counselling, educational courses, educational books and DVD and information for bereaved adults and children.
